As a writer, I believe it is important to read the work of others, not for competition but to gain knowledge of what readers like. Plus I LOVE to read. Its fundamental right? So here I will post reviews of books I have read and books I am reading.

The Coldest Winter Ever
This is one of my favorite books. I can honestly say that this story inspired my passion in wanting to be a novelist. I read it twice. Winter is an amazing character that goes through the motions from beginning to end. If you have read it speak about it, if not make sure you pick it up. A more in depth review, will follow later!
The Color Purple
Recently, as in two days ago, I picked up for the first time, The Color Purple by Alice Walker. Last week as a birthday
treat I saw the Broadway musical at the Kennedy Center and then I went home to watch the movie, one of my favorite movies. I decided it was time to read the book because at this age I am sure to fully understand it, or at least understand it better than if I had picked up in my younger years. Needless to say, the book is now my FAVORITE version. Books are always so much better. There was so much left out of the book, and that’s something to say, we all know that movie is LONG. I encourage any one who loves the Color Purple to read the book.
